Greetings all. This year I experienced a sad realization: That I was not as good of a golfer as I thought I was. This is not an easy thing to come to grips with, but it did have one bright spot-I got to go shopping for new clubs.
My first set of serious clubs (many years ago) was a set of Ping Eye 2's. I played those for almost a decade before I felt like the technology had truly passed me by. I then went out and made a terrible mistake. I bought a set of Callaway X-14 Pros. Now, don't get me wrong, these are fantastic clubs. But I purchased them for all the wrong reasons. First, they were on sale. Second, my uncle played them and absolutely said they were his favorite club. Now, one detail I neglected to consider when purchasing the clubs was that my uncle was a scratch golfer who had played in what is now the Nationwide Tour while I was a 20 handicap on my best day.
